There were also other people on board the vehicle and miraculously they all escaped without any injury.
The two are allegedly coming back from a two-day tour of Uasin Gishu County in the company of other members of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee.
The parliamentary committee on agriculture had just left a farm in Cheplaskei area headed to the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depot in Eldoret when the incident happened.
The accident drew a crowd that gathered up to help the victims out of the wreckage even though the downpour was apparently heavy.
One of the rescuers who witnessed the accident said the driver probably lost control, as the car swerved severally before finally turning over on the soiled road.
Another said something like the car’s tyre or wheel may have caused the accident.
One that seemed very close to home was the suggestion that the accident could have occurred due to the nature of the road they were travelling on.
Another eyewitness said the Toyota Surf Hilux car tumbled after the driver tried to avoid hitting an oncoming car.
