Embu Governor Martin Wambora has been issued with an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court.
Governor Wambura was set to appear in court to explain the circumstances that led to the sacking of his personal assistant and two other advisors.
Justice Monica Mbaru of the Labour Court directed IG Joseph Boinett to make the arrests on Monday. County secretary Josephat Ndwiga and Joseph Nyaga, a member of the county’s Public Service Board were also to be arrested.
The three men listed above to be arrested were sued by Governor Wambura’s former political advisors Bosco Kiura, Joe Kamaria and Joshua Kanake.
Kanake served as his political adviser, Kamaria was his economic and planning adviser while Kiura was his personal adviser and liaison officer. The three were fired in September, 2016.
Speaking at a rally in Kairuri grounds in Embu North sub-county, the fired political advisors apologized for serving Wambora.
”In Embu tradition, we say that if parents get a child but he is spoiled such that they are unable to correct him, the best thing to do is just to give birth to another one,” Kanake said.
He was making reference to the reason for their support for Senator Lenny Kivuti who aims to replace Wambura as Embu governor. They urged residents to consider Kivuti the newborn who will replace the spoiled one.
Kanake went on to say that they did their best to advise Governor Wambura on governance which he failed to listen to. He said the three of them were very disappointed with him for failing the people of Embu.
