Born in a family of five Wanjiru was considered as her family’s magic. This is because she had a unique personality that made every person be proud of her. Due to this uniqueness, she had many nicknames from friends and the family. She is one woman who still stands for the need to protect the African values. This can be depicted from the plays she has acted reflecting what most African cultures valued.she never wanted the influence of any bad form that was meant to lower the African cultural values.

8. Wangari Maathai

Wangari Maathai

Wangari Maathai was born in April 1940.She was a Kenyan citizen by birth. The activist, who stood to her words till her last minute on earth, Wangari received her education in Kenya and the United States of America. Wangari formed a movement that was meant to educate the society the importance of tree planting. People later realized that nurturing the environment and planting trees was important. She won a Nobel peace prize in the world. She died in the year 2011. She also featured in the following movies: Here to Stay (2009), Dirt! The Movie (2009), The 11th Hour (2007), Blue Gold: World Water Wars (2008), etc.

9. Edi Mue Gathegi

Edi Gathegi

Edi Mue Gathegi is a famous Kenyan actor who was born in Nairobi, Kenya but grew up in Albany, California. He is one of the most talented and popular actors from Kenya to grace the American film industry where he has featured in several high grossing movies like “house TV series” where he played the role of Dr Jeffrey Cole,  Cheese in the 2007 movie: Gone Baby Gone. Other movies he starred in include: X-Men: First Class, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Nikita, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (TV series), just to name a few.

10. Zena Marshall

Zena was born and raised in Kenya up to the age of nine. She was born by a French mother and an Irish father. After her father’s death, Zena and her mother left the country and went to live in Leicestershire with a foster father. She discovered her talent and has featured in many rocking movies like Snowbound, Danger Man and So Long at the Fair.
