In this unbelievable scene, a man, simply known as Daltone Mwatela, caught his wife with her sex partner – who was their Shamba boy – in their matrimonial bed. The incident took place in broad daylight as people went about their normal business on Friday in Wundanyi, Taita-Taveta County.
The 30-year old Daltone Mwatela, a driver with a private firm, said he was bewildered when he saw his wife a salonist, making out with their former farmhand.
Speaking to the bystanders, the angry man said he had gone to work early in the morning and unexpectedly returned home following a tip off from a neighbour. On getting home, he went straight to the room only to discover a naked man who was very uneasy hiding in his bedroom.
The man said he had been questioning his wife’s conduct after someone revealed to him that a man who works at an M-Pesa shop in the town has been sleeping with her when the husband is away.
“When I arrived home I found the door locked from inside. And when I knocked it, my wife was hesitant to open, heightening my suspicion.”
She finally opened the door, though acted unconcerned but was shaky. The father of two daughters said when he saw the man, he rained blows on him, attracting neighbours and policemen.
Mwatela said one of his daughters had already gone to school while the younger one was given a lollipop to distract her as the two went to bed. More confusing is the fact that the Shamba boy and this driver’s wife had been previously caught in the same act.
In the past incident, the act was reported to the local chief where the shamba boy asked for forgiveness after admitting that he was having an affair with the woman.
Mwatela had moved to Wundanyi to deter the relationship which had began in their village in Werugha, but apparently it didn’t work. According to the driver, the police released the wanton shamba boy instead of prosecuting him.

“I did not get the support I needed from the OCS who released the man, claiming lack of evidence.”
Area OCS Isaac Ruto explained how difficult it is to pin down such a suspect, owing to the fact that there was mutual consent.
Mr Ruto added:
“This case is complicated because the man was invited to the house by the driver’s wife. There is nothing that I can do about the case. I have advised the couples to amicably resolve the matter at home.”
Mwatela said he will not resolve the issue for the second time. He called off the marriage, claiming his wife might give him disease with the increasing sexually transmitted diseases flying about the country.
