Following frenzied rumor which went round the internet last time, Jose Mourinho is now ready to take the role of Louis van Gaal at Manchester United Football Club.
The Portuguese coach is set to land a three-year, £15million-a-season deal to lead Manchester United, Daily Mirror reports.
The former Chelsea boss, Mourinho, has received a package at Old Trafford that amounts to much of the same standard with what old foe Pep Guardiola got, as he moves to rivals Manchester City this summer.
The deal will take the experienced coach to Old Trafford this season.
The parties involved agreed on some terms and conditions while striking the deal with two-time Champions League-winning head coach, apparently determined and eager to discharge his duties in his new club.
According to The Independent, the ex Chelsea coach who left Chelsea in December, was ‘confident and ethusiatic’ of being the boss at Old Trafford.
Mourinho desires to join forces with Atletico Madrid sporting director, Andrea Berta labelled to join him in Manchester.
Italian Berta, allegedly a close friend of Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, would be responsible for negotiating the recruitment and signing of player, which is as of yet the sphere of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Woodward who used to secure the signatures of transfer targets, will now focus on the commercial side of United’s operations rather than endorsing players.
United have so far claimed they will not be looking to appoint a director of football, but Mourinho is keen to have the freedom to overhaul the squad and has already spelled out his potential summer targets to the club.
Woodward will be questioned on the managerial situation by investors on Thursday, when the club announces their latest financial results.
United club which is currently in fifth place, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with 13 matches to go has seen speculation linking Mourinho with the position at Old Trafford in the past.
But it has intensified over recent weeks, particularly since the confirmation of Pep Guardiola’s impending arrival at Manchester City. As the big announcement excites, the big question is, are some Chelsea fans going to move over to Man U?
