Kenyan Beaches Named Among Top 25 In The Continent


Two Kenyan beaches have been ranked among the top 25 beaches to visit in the whole of Africa in 2016. The two beaches were ranked by American travel website TripAdvisor as among the best 25 in the continent this year.

The two beaches include the famous Diani Beach in Kwale County which took the 10th position overall, while Watamu Beach in Kilifi County poses on the 23rd position.

Diani has been recognised as one of the best destinations in Africa by the World Travel Awards in the past and the recent ranking makes it the second consecutive year in which the beach gets mentioned as such.

The Seychelles’ six beaches made the top 25 in Africa. The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean off East Africa. It is  known for its beaches, coral reefs, diving, nature reserves and rare wildlife such as giant Aldabra tortoises.

Mauritius’ six beaches were also ranked among the top 25 best beaches in Africa, while South Africa had five on the list. Mauritius is a volcanic island nation in the Indian Ocean, famous for its magnificent beaches, lagoons and reefs.

Seychelles’ Anse Lazio Beach was named the best in the whole of Africa.

Camp’s Bay Beach in South Africa came second while Praia de Santa Maria in Cape Verde seized the third position. Anse Georgette in the Seychelles was named the fourth in the entire continent.

Seychelles’ Anse Source D’Argent and Anse Intendance ranked as the fifth and sixth respectively.

Lagzira Beach in Morocco came seventh. Grand Anse in the Seychelles took eighth position, and Clifton Beaches in South Africa dominates the ninth position as the best beach in Africa in 2016.

Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos won number one in the globe and it is followed by Baia do Sancho Beach in Brazil which came second. Playa Paraiso in Cuba and Anse Lazio in the Seychelles posed the third and fourth position in the world respectively.

Cayo de Agua in Venezuela is ranked the fifth best beach in the world right now.

While Flamenco Beach in Puerto Rico grabs the sixth place leaving the seventh position for Playa de Ses Illetes on Balearic Islands. Ngapali Beach in Myanmar is named the eighth top beach to visit in the globe.
