Politician Attacked With Acid, Stabbed Inside Office


A suspected lethal weapon-wielding man, suspected to be a killer, recently attacked a Kiambu politician. The armed man penetrated somehow penetrated security into Mr Chege Muhoro’s office at Kimende Town and splashed acid on him.

The attacker also cut the businessman with a knife man, leaving him severe injury. Mr Muhoro said that before the attack, he had received a strange call then seconds later the assailant entered and threw acid in his face.

The attacker, who seemingly was spying on him, probably wanted to confirm if it was the politician that was in his office before launching the attack.
Mr. Muhoro said he had also received threats from unknown people before the incident.

The politician was transported to Rukuma hospital and later transferred to Kikuyu hospital, where he was admitted.

Confirming the incident, Lari OCPD Zipporah Mboroki noted that there must have been a struggle during the ambush since there were blood stains in the office.

Authorities are investigating the assault to determine who the attacker was. The Lari parliamentary seat aspirant suffered serious injuries resulting from the attack, and is still receiving treatment at the hospital.

In another incident, a Kiambu politician on Thursday, August 11, told a court in Kiambu that he was lured by a woman to her house and ended up being robbed of KSh 53,000.

Kiganjo MCA Samuel Mwarage visited Catherine Wanjiku to look at clothes she was supposed to sell to him. Upon entering the house, three men appeared and accused him of sleeping with a married woman.

One of the men claimed he was Wanjiku’s husband and forced him and the woman to pull their clothes in the bedroom, after which the men took their photos.

The MCA revealed that Wanjiku didn’t utter a word and  rather watched them smack him with a panga while dragging him about. He was later forced to pay KSh 100,000 and was chased away while Wanjiku and her supposed husband remained at the house.

The MCA said he was fortunate as some construction workers who saw he was in danger rescued him.
