Kisii assistant chief was arraigned in court for killing a man who had visited his mistress.
Wilson Omwoyo is facing murder charges for slaughtering William Metenge on the night of June 21, 2015 within Metembe location.
The court heard that the two men were dating the same woman but were not aware. Not until the night of the murder, when the two met each other by chance as their visiting hour clashed unknowingly.

A witness identified as Kepha Onditi told court that he was strolling home with the slain when he removed his phone to call Florence – the woman in question. Onditi added:
“I could hear a woman’s voice on the other end and I could tell it was Florence since the phone was on speaker. It was around 9pm.”
Onditi explained that they later left the deceased who went to Florence’s home. But said he was going to call when he got home safely. But he waited for Metenge’s call, which never came.
According to him, he later heard the sad news and hurried to the hospital to see Metenge. He also claimed that Metenge had told him what happened, saying that the area assistant chief, who is in court today, attacked him with a knife. “That is all we spoke about,” added Onditi in court.
The second witness, who is Florence’s daughter, confessed that her mother was dating the deceased. According to her, she heard noise from her mother’s room and on checking, she discovered that the deceased laid naked in a pool of blood. She told the court:
“I took him by the roadside and asked my cousin to get his clothes from the sitting room. I then sought help from a boda boda operator who took him to hospital.”
Florence said Metenge came to her house and asked for water at around 9.20 pm before the incident. The court adjourned the case, placing it on July 27.
Many say the two would have towed the path of Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani of Kisauni in Mombasa County who married one woman after they discovered that she was cheating on them rather than engaging in such deadly fight.
