Madonna met with Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta, the first lady of Kenya on Monday. The meeting, she says, was for her to learn about First Lady’s Beyond Zero Campaign which targets ending maternal and child mortality in Kenya.
According to the US pop icon she wants to partner with Kenya’s first lady Margaret Kenyatta to ensure the expansion of her initiative, Beyond Zero, that supports maternal and child health programmes.
In a statement, the first lady’s office says Madonna described the Beyond Zero initiative “as an amazing movement and a natural partner for advocacy”.

American singer Madonna, who is holidaying in the country, has been sharing updates from her visit on social media. Meanwhile some media organizations are speculating that she’s in the country to adopt a child as she did in Malawi.
However, the singer seems to be in the country for charity reasons.
She had taken a trip to Kibera, Africa’s largest slum, where she got familiar with some residents, including and especially children. In one picture which she shared of her trip in kibera, she worte:
“Hugging Mama Sopfie. This Amazing Woman lives in a 10 by 10 dwelling in Kibera with her 14 children-2 adopted. Her husband killed in a political uprising. She’s starting her own business with the help of @shofco. God Bless Her!
