The 15-year-old daughter of American Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay was fatally shot in the neck at a restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky.
Trinity Gay was rushed to the University of Kentucky medical center by her friends, where she passed away.

The shooting began at around 4am on Sunday when men in different cars opened fire on each other in the restaurant parking lot before fleeing the scene.
The police confirmed that Trinity was not a passenger in either vehicle or an intended target but rather got struck by a stray bullet. Three men have been arrested in connection with the shootings at the restaurant and unfortunate death of Tyson Gay’s daughter.
Lexington police have charged Dvonta Middlebrooks with wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Chazerae Taylor, 38, and D’markeo Taylor, 19, who are father and son have also been charged with wanton endangerment.
The men were all taken into custody Sunday evening.
Tyson Gay is the second fastest man to run the 100-meter in history. He ran the 100-meter in 9.69 seconds in 2009, matching Bolt’s gold-winning effort at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
His daughter Trinity was well on her way to becoming a star on the tracks. She was a sprinter for Lafayette High School in Lexington.
Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent said in a statement that hearts are broken over the loss of Trinity to tragic and senseless violence. It went on to ask for prayers for the Gay family during this trying time.
A candlelit vigil was held on Monday at Lafayette High School for Trinity.
Her Olympian father and mother, Shoshanna Boyd, embraced during the memorial service with several thousand people turning out to honor the student.
