Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero had requested to meet international singer Mya and his plea was met on Friday morning.
The American songwriter and singer, who arrived with some members of her travel crew and the event organizers, met Dr Kidero at City Hall.
The Nairobi Governor took to social media to express his wish to meet the Grammy award winner during the Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show.
In a tweet, Kidero stated: “@Koinangejeff Please tell #MissMaya (sic) to visit City Hall, the headquarters of Nairobi County”.
He later wiped off the tweet, but someone with faster fingers had already screen-grabbed the request.
But this is not the first time we have seen something of this nature. Business tycoon Chris Kirubi had also expressed a desire to meet Mya but it’s still unclear whether the beautiful singer has taken up the offer.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero apologised to the rich city lawyer Donald Kipkorir whose car was clampped yesterday.
The Communication Director at City Hall, Walter Mongare, on Thursday noted that the City Government apologized to the lawyer.
Kipkorir had parked his Mercedes Benz outside City hall to run a quick errand around the area. Moments later, inspectorate officer screwed the car as it did not have a parking ticket.
However, many on social media think the apology was unnecessary.
One online user stated: “I was clamped in Westlands a few weeks ago… I didn’t get an apology from the County… *Sigh.”
But Mr Mongare hinted that Kipkorir’s vehicle was not supposed to be fastened with a clamp because the Governor made him pull over.
“Our officers are under very strict instructions to clump any car that is parked by the roadside. So because of that, we apologise because it’s the governor who had told him to pull over and say hey.”
