Meghan Markle, the upcoming actress who plays Suits’ character Rachel Zane, is rumored to be in a relationship with UK’s most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry.
The 35-year-old divorcee met the Prince in May at a function in Canada when she was still with her celebrity chef boyfriend of two years, Cory Vitiello.
The pair broke up that same month with reports indicating that the Prince’s interest in her might have been a reason. By summer, the two officially became an item as news broke out of their relationship.
Markle, as well as Buckingham Palace, has not publicly commented on the relationship but People magazine is claiming an engagement is “certainly a possibility.”
Canadian gossip columnist Shinan Govani said the couple spent Halloween weekend together and stepped out together, attending a Halloween party at Soho House private members club in Toronto.
The relationship with Markle is said to be serious and the pair would need to overcome certain obstacles if they were to get married.
Miss Markle lives in Canada where her career took off from after she landed a role in the legal drama series, Suits, in 2011.
She said she struggled to land roles and now her career seems to be on a rise, it would take some convincing to sway the actress to leave. She also talked about struggling with her ethnic identity as a child.
About her career, she wrote on Elle magazine:
“I wasn’t black enough for the black roles and I wasn’t white enough for the white ones, leaving me somewhere in the middle as the ethnic chameleon who couldn’t book a job.”
Another stumbling block would be the fact that she is an American and a divorcee.
Miss Markle was married for two years to Trevor Engelson, an American film producer. They were together for seven years before getting married in 2011, but divorcing in 2013.

According to royal observers, Prince Harry would need the Queen’s permission if he wanted to tie the knot with Miss Markle.
The last Royal family member, Edward VIII who married an American divorcee was required to abdicate in 1936. This would however not be a problem for Prince Harry as he is the fifth in line to the throne.
