Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria confessed that he has a fish lunch meeting with opposition leader Raila Odinga
Speaking in an interview on Saturday, the MP said the CORD leader had planned to have a meal with him and Suna East MP Junnet Mohamed after the former Prime Minister reached him on phone while in custody at Pangani police station.
Kuria also said Suna East MP Junnet Mohamed would join the fish lunch meeting. The Gatundu South MP said he ordered their fish lunch to meet with his favourite traditional greens ‘osuga’. Kuria said:
“Raila requested if I could join him for a meal of fish once we are released. I accepted the lunch offer on condition my favourite vegetable ‘Osuga’ will be available.”
Raila, on Friday June 17, 2016, announced that he had forgiven Moses Kuria for allegedly calling for his assassination. He made the announcement at AIC Milimani during the requiem service for ex-minister Ngala Mwendwa.
The CORD leader said he wasn’t convinced that Moses Kuria acually meant what he said. Raila said Kuria was only “playing to the overwhelming crowd” when he made the controversial assassination comments.
The opposition leader said if the Gatundu South MP had the intentions to kill him he wouldn’t even let the world know. The opposition leader added that the Gatundu South Mp played to his supporters as he was overwhelmed by a crowd. He added that he found himself uttering things he did not intend to.
Kuria and seven other Cord and Jubilee politicians are facing charges for hate remarks issued on different occasions. They were charged earlier at Milimani law courts.
Raila was present at the court after being waited for by a crowd of cord supporters outside the court. He was allowed inside with just a few of his aides.
