Opposition Leader Raila Odinga’s New year message was a very tough one…directed to his rival, President Uhuru Kenyatta and an appeal to the electorate
The New year has been fully ushered, Kenyan and world leaders have been sending out their new year message of goodwill to the people.
Kenyan Politicians too are not left out in this venture. CORD leader, Raila Odinga’s New year message was a very tough one, directed to his rival President Uhuru Kenyatta and an appeal to the electorate.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga has told Kenyans to stand firm against the Jubilee administration which, he said remains the biggest obstacle to the realization of development in the country.
Raila said a government that goes on holiday when health workers are on strike does not deserve existence.
“No competent, caring and accountable government can proceed on holiday when citizens are suffering, as is the case now because health workers are on strike,” he said in his New Year message to Kenyans on Sunday.
“Our people want to build the country. What stands between us and our dreams is the Jubilee government.”
The Jubilee administration has constantly been on the mirror over mega corruption scandals including the SGR, NYS, Health Ministry to mention but a few.
Raila has consistently challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to prove what the billions of shillings his government has borrowed from foreign countries has done.
“The Jubilee government wants to run our lives instead of enabling us to run our own lives,” Raila added.
“It is my appeal to the people of Kenya that we dedicate 2017 to the realization of a clean, honest, competent, inclusive and caring government.”
The CORD leader who is angling for the presidency in the coming general election also accused the government of systemic failures asking Kenyans to change the government as has been the cases in Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Gambia.
Raila Odinga’s new year message also sound a note of warning to the electorate to be aware of Jubilee’s plan to use the money he stole from Kenyans to buy people over and also bribe people in the electoral commission
“it has stolen to corrupt the electoral process”, Raila said.
He also detailed several scandals which he said had taken place under the watch of the Jubilee government yet the perpetrators were walking scot free.
He urged Kenyans to be wise and vote out the President Uhuru and his government in the forthcoming election in August 2017 because they have failed to curb corruption in the country.
