While some leaders faced judical trial, DP William Ruto stormed an ordinary Nairobi local to enjoy barbeque steak (nyama choma) with area residents.
Abandoning his flashy lifestyle, the DP entered Umoja area, and walked into one of the popular nyama choma roadside joints to munch on the steak.
The DP who didn’t want to enjoy the nyama choma alone, invited a few residents, to dine with him. He later shared the photos on his social networks.
The visit to the greasy spot at Caltex in Umoja was after the DP ended his Embakasi West Constituency tour.
These days, the deputy president appears to be interacting more with ordinary folks at common places as this isn’t the first time he has been spotted spending time on the streets.
Just two weeks ago, he pulled a similar stunt in his home county Uasin Gishu where he was seen gulping chicken stew at a local kibanda together with his governor Jackson Mandago.
Also, last year, the self-branded “hustler” was seen in photos seated by the roadside with youth from Mukuru Kayaba slums, Umoja and Dandora, in the popular Eastlands ‘style ya base’, accompanied by musician Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar.
Meanwhile, Deputy President William Ruto recently clapped back at Opposition leaders for resorting to amateurish politics. He said this was because the opposition party already perceives defeat on the horizon, asking them not to engage in ‘poor politics.’
He described Cord leaders as being excellent at playing the politics of insulting and tarnishing the reputation of better players and also of lacking real direction.
