Following the recent killings of 34 Al Shabaab militants which serves as a visible evidence that the Kenyan Defence Forces’ (KDF) mission in Somalia is actually working, police has alerted all Kenyans to be vigilant as the militants may be plotting evil against the country.
Police said that the terror group Al-Shabaab may be trying to gain access into Kenya to launch attacks after they lost 34 of their own over the weekend and as such, Police urges the public to let the security agencies know of any suspicious people or objects.
National Police Service spokesman George Kinoti disclosed that several militants have been running out of Somalia towards Kenya as a result of the rigorous operations which has been ongoing against the group. As a consequence also, police say the group might flee into Kenya to carry out some horrific attacks.
The security agency also urged guards to heighten security measures before granting individuals and vehicles access into the country. Public Service Vehicles, hotel operators and other service providers are called on to be really watchful especially during this Easter Holidays.
KDF soldiers have been doing a great job keeping our enemies at bay, mindless of the fact that they put their lives on the line for our safety. Kenya has lost many prospective investors to terrorism yet the terrorists continue to threaten the tourism sector, a significant source of revenue for the country.
Over 900 Kenyans have been killed in terror related attacks in the past ten years.
But the militants have faced serious tension inside Somalia in the past months, since they raided a KDF camp in Somalia with close to 300 killed in two months.
Apart from the recent slaughter by Kenyan Defence Force (KDF) troops which saw the death of 34 Al-Shabaab extremists in separate battles which occurred in Somalia over the weekend, retrieving several deadly weapons from them, KDF has also carried out scores of brutal attacks against the group lately.
At first it was an airstrike that killed more than hundred of militant Islamist group al-Shabaab in Somalia, set to pass out from training camp to carry out brutal attack. Thereafter, came the raid by masked commandos that took Somalia’s militant Islamist group al-Shabaab unaware in its base, which prompted the terror group to start seizing suspected spies.
In fact, since al-Shabaab attacked KDF base in Somalia, the group could testify that they have known no peace. From constant bombardment to raids, the military have in full force come into conflict against the terror group.
And in those attacks, security agencies in the operations reveal they retrieved arsenal and vehicles.
Also, last week, over 50 militants were killed in a failed attack on a military camp. The militants are said to have plotted an attack on a camp where Amisom and SNA troops in Afmadhow, Lower Juba Region stay. More tactically, in almost all the attacks against al shabba deadly weapons were retrieved.
