With the country looking forward to a Raila against Uhuru election come 2017, some residents have already began to fight over Ruto’s dream to contest for the the same post in 2022.
In display of anger, Naivasha residents set fire on a figurine of Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge because he alleged that Central might not support William Ruto’s 2022 presidency bid.
The residents, including areas leaders, demonstrated against the reckless statement, castigating the Senator for his “senseless” sentiments.
During the weekend, Njoroge in a statement told DP Ruto not to hope that Central Kenya will support him in 2022 general election. He urged the DP to “stop trying to blackmail Kikuyus to automatically support him in 2022”.
Lakeview MCA Simon Wanyoike said the Senator was daring to have made such statement, telling him to focus on the role he was nominated to perform.
The angry mob said there is no doubt that Njoroge is working for Cord and supports it but according to them, a big surprise awaits him since they are going to vote for “our president and his deputy come 2017 and 2022”.

They alleged that the Senator’s statement was disturbing and that they needed to show him that “the Kikuyu community is not short of leaders who can speak on its behalf.”
Nominated MCA Esther Njeri said Njoroge was nothing but “an enemy” of the Naivasha community and the country as a whole.
Youth leader Mwangi Muraya said they had decided to ban the Senator from carrying out any activities in Naivasha even though it is his home. According to the leader, the ban will make him not to hold meetings that will lead to violence.
Njoroge is the second Jubilee official to speak against Ruto’s 2022 presidency bid.
Earlier this month, Kiambu Governor William Kabogo said the Mt Kenya region will not automatically support Ruto’s presidency bid for president in 2022.
However, he later said his statement was misunderstood and asked the party to forgive him, assuring to give the Deputy president his maximum support.
