Ever wondered what Obama’s post-presidential home will look like after his time in White House?
Of course, by 2017, Barack Obama will pass the mantle of leadership of the United States to either Hillary Clinton or outspoken Donald Trump, and whoever gets it will continue the job of keeping America great.
So in preparation for the post-presidential life, the president has made plans to secure a homey yet exotic residence where he and his household will move into.
The leader said he will lease a home in Washington, D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood after he leaves the White House next year. This is to make it easier for his last daughter to adjust to the change as they have stayed in the neighbourhood for 7 years.
It will also enable their youngest daughter complete her high school as it is tough to transfer a student in the middle of High school.
The house which he intends to take is owned by Joe Lockhart, who served as White House press secretary under former President Bill Clinton. It is about 2 miles from the White House, and about 1/2 a mile from the Clintons’.
The apartment was constructed in 1928. It has a generous living room and dining room, a finished downstairs family room/media room, and an au-pair suite.
The exotic residence has its luxury appeal with a dining room, Kitchen, 9 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a beautiful eco-friendly garden and a courtyard that accommodates as much as 10 vehicles. It has an 8,200-square-foot brick Tudor.
The interior of the “meticulously renovated” D.C home has been noted to have state of the art decors, furnishing and finishing. The new house also has a family room and a suite.
It was sold in 2014 for more than $5 million. A recent real estate estimate says the house could cost about $22,000 as monthly rents.

The Obamas’ new home is reportedly located in the Kalorama neighborhood, Washington, D.C. The residence will be leased to them in 2017. The contract with the real estate management is expected to last over a couple of years (at least till Sasha is done with high school).
Even after serving as President, the Obamas will still enjoy government sponsored security services. Thus some features might be changed or improved to suit the purpose. For instance, the house will be considered to have bullet proof doors and windows; and surveillance cameras.
