Jamaican speedster Usain Bolt is deliberating having a football career after he retires from the track next year.
Speaking to The Guardian, the thirty-year-old said he has “been genuinely talking to people” about making his football career a possibility.
He went on to add that he is set to train with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and will spend two days training with the squad in Germany.
Bolt, who played in between the posts as a kid will surely be looking to utilize his greatest asset on either flank as he terrorizes defenders with his blistering pace.
The nine-time Olympic gold medalist who has been a longtime Manchester United fan also said he still dreamed of playing for the Red Devils one day.
”For me, if I could get to play for Manchester United, that would be like a dream come true. Yes, that would be epic,” said Bolt.
He had previously joked about Jose Mourinho waiting for him to finish with his Olympic obligations before calling him to join the ranks at the club.
”I haven’t got the call yet, but I know it’s coming. I think he’s waiting until after the Olympics.”
Another larger than life character would not be what United needed but if Usain Bolt could produce half of what he has accomplished on track on the pitch, he would be a welcomed addition to any side.
Whether he ends up joining the shortlist of professional athletes to have stellar careers in more than one sport is unknown. We, however, know that age is not on his side and his greatest asset will soon start to fade.
Bolt deliberating having a football career will bring joy to every sport lover who will surely pay top-dollar to watch him. We wish Usain Bolt luck.
