Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga entered Busia county on Wednesday for his two-day tour and was received with a nice song by Busia youths.
Looks like all Raila supporters know how to compose impromptu songs after what AFC leopards fans did days ago.
On arrival, the opposition leader was welcomed by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong to the county. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga then visited Bumala Stadium in Busia where he started out his two-day tour in the area.
Raila was accompanied to Busia by two of his party deputies Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya
Apart from the govrnor, the youths in the area has compiled a rap song for Raila Odinga.
They came up with a song that will definitely get Ababu Namwamba jealous given that the county is the home of the former ODM secretary general.
Watch The Rap Below:
In response, Ababu Namwamba slammed the party leader Raila Odinga for his tour in Budalangi and other areas in Busia county. He claimed that Raila spent more time in his backyard (Budalangi) than any other area he has visited in Western Kenya since he started his tour early in the week.
Ababu believes that Raila made the decision to apparently ‘overstay’ in Budalangi in a bid to win him back into the party.
Ababu was quoted to have said:
“The programme covered three constituencies of Budalangi, Funyula and Butula. However, Raila spent 90% of his time in Budalangi. Even if he comes to Budalangi a million times, nothing will change,”
During his tour in his constituency, Raila still gave Ababu a chance, referring to him as his son and insisting that the doors are still open for him at ODM. He had said he will welcome the leader when he comes but only as an MP.
Raila’s tour of the region is aimed at addressing the increasing rebellion in the ODM party especially by members from Western Kenya.
Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba, Funyula MP Paul Otuoma and Sirisia’s John Walukhe have already relinquished their positions in the party. According to them, they now feel lighter and freer in their political career as a result. Before their exit, Ababu Namwamba had been the ODM secretary general, Otuoma was the party vice chairperson while Welukhe was the party’s Bungoma county chairman.
Raila’s tour will end in Kakamega county on Friday, July 22.
