Celine Dion Cries Her Eyeballs Out On Stage At Husband’s Funeral

At the memorial service held in honour of Celine Dion’s husband and manager Rene Angelil at the Colosseum (Caesar’s Palace) in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, 3rd February, the couldn’t prevent her tears from flooding the stage.

She tried to let the tears go away but she rather broke down.

Many friends, family and fans converged at the Colosseum, The residence of the singer of “My Heart Will Go On”, to be with her for the emotional service, which was streamed live across the world.

The bird-voice singer dressed in a graceful, shoulder-revealing black gown, took to the stage to address the assembly.


She later went very emotional while she pay tribute to her husband of more than 20 years.


Dion told the audience:

Let me start by saying good evening, good friends. René, the love of my life, would be so happy to know we are here together. I feel the love in this room. This is my home away from home. At the same time, I’m supposed to feel extremely comfortable being home, and right now, I’m not sure how comfortable I feel.


After narrating stories of happy times together, the heroic 47-year-old singer became overcome with emotion as she brought her speech to a close.

A little while before the memorial service, Celine shared a beautiful picture where she embraces her late husband backstage at one of her concerts in the shot posted on her official Facebook page.

After that, her team wrote:

Today, a ‘celebration of life’ of René Angélil will be held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 19 pm (PST) and this will be distributed simultaneously online.


The 47-year-old tragically lost her husband to throat cancer on January 14th, two days before his 74th birthday, after battling cancer for a long time and also her brother, Daniel, just within two days of each other.

Celine and Rene were married since 1994. The pair renewed their vows in 2000 and had three children together. Their love was such that the modern-day celebrities should emulate.

Celine Dion, who nursed her husband throughout his sick period, said that her husband’s last wish was to die in her arms. According to Celine, who was also preparing herself for her husband’s absence before his demise, ‘…my biggest job is to tell my husband, “We’re fine. I’ll take care of our kids. You’ll watch us from another spot“.
