Remember Morris Mwenda, the young fluent street boy that swept Kenyans off their feet with his flawless English? Yes, that lad that caught the attention of a famous millionaire?
Well, the millionaire has found him and has brought light into his world.
Morris became famous in less than 48 hours after a video of himself appeared on the internet, in which he answered some question, eloquently speaking in English, asking the Kenyan government to give Street children a chance to show their true personalities brimming with talents.
The video went viral and reached millionaires around Africa.
Joe Kariuki, the former Candy and Candy Record label boss, one of the big shots who saw the video, wrote moments after the he saw the video:
This young man has something! It breaks my heart to see young people of Kenya being in the streets. He talks about opportunity and if he is ready. I am ready to give him an opportunity to his life. I will personally help him go into rehabilitation and to school! And I want to see him being an example for others,
This is yet another reason to help empowering the women of Kenya. If the women are empowered they will empower the families. Do you think an empowered family will allow their kids to get lost in the street? They will do whatever is in their power to give them a home and a safe upbringing.
He later asked for any person with details of his whereabouts to reach on him on some phone numbers he dropped on several internet blogs and social media sites.
Following this request, Joe was able to reach the young man and he has paid school fees for Morris and 6 other children who were not in school (from Homeless Children’s Home).
As of yet, the kids have now joined Highridge Primary School where Joe Kariuki will cater for their fees and other basic needs.
Morris, who was being taken care of at Homeless Children Home in Nairobi County has now received the opportunity had sought in his video after city multi-millionaire Joe Kariuki did the needful for him.
