Social Media was on fire yesterday after bongo star Diamond Platinumz and Zari Hassan got into a fight with the later hinting a potential split from the Ugandan socialite. However, today, it appears the two have buried the hatchet and their love only seems to be waxing stronger.
There is a thin line between love and hate and for the Utanipenda hitmaker and his socialite boo, that statement couldn’t be truer. Their relationship has had its fair share of highs and lows, many of which have come to light thanks to social media.
Just yesterday (Monday), Diamond Platinumz took to Instagram to post a picture of Zari in a spa pool scarcely dressed and standing rather too close to an unidentified man.
He accompanied the picture with a caption which translates: “THE REASON WHY SOMETIMES I PREFER BEING A PLAYER THAN A COMMITTED LOYAL MAN.”
Zari immediately replied, with more photos of her in the pool explaining that the man in the photo was her the uncle to her kids while the photo was taken by his wife.
She also called out those spreading rumours about her. As expected, social media went haywire, seeing both posts receive thousands of likes and comments.
However, just hours later, the couple took down their posts. This morning, the Tanzanian superstar treated fans to cosy photos of him and Zari together.
Apparently, he had just flown down to South Africa where Zari is managing the wealth of her late ex-husband Ivan Ssemwanga.
Among the series of posts was a video with Diamond, Zari and their child playing. The video featured Oma Kopa’s Taarab song, Sitaki Ushambenga which talks about the usual struggles couples go through.
Platinumz attacked haters with a caption on the post – “Nimesema staki ushambenga!”
A line in the song translates: “we quarrel in the morning, in the evening we are back talking to each other…”
It was the first time Platinumz was posting a photo/video of his wife and kids since the death of Zari’s ex-husband Ivan Ssemwanga.
Many fans congratulated the couple on their reconciliation. Here are some messages:
Christa: Nice and lovely family @diamondplatnumz
Sophie: Keep enjoying as haters talk. #TeamZari
Zari’s sister Zuleha Hassan also commented saying; And you’ll bitches and haters were saying? 😂😂😂😂 kitawanyonga mpaka mutajewuwa. 😈
Disappointingly, it appears Platinumz and Hassan were staging the whole fight as a publicity stunt to get the attention of the masses. And the reason is that Platinumz is set to release, not a new song or video but an ALBUM which will be entitled All Things Bongo…
