Seen Donald Trump’s pledge to African-Americans?
You are sure to be as shocked as myself. The presumptive presidential nominee for Republican party, Donald Trump, recently called out to the supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders’ supporters and shockingly to African-Americans to vote for him.
He made the perplexing call while issuing a win speech after Tuesday’s primaries.
While appealing for the votes of Blacks in America, the presumptive nominee made a promise to clean up the “disgraceful” urban areas that house African-Americans and to treat Black people better.
“We’re going to rebuild our inner cities, which are absolutely a shame and so sad. We’re going to take care of our African-American people that have been mistreated for so long.”
The appeal by the politician who has suffered several criticism for making reckless racial remarks was perceived as being desperate and fake. In fact social media users immediately revealed the attempt to please Black voters. According to them, Donald Trump wanted to take ownership of black people yet he does not understand his remark was also racist for using “our” African Americans.
Several of those Twitter users referenced Trump’s recent shout-out to a man he called “my African American” at a rally.
They said Trump’ s comment which was clearly a possessive one shows he yet to understand that Blacks are Americans too and not visitors.
Trump while speaking to audience in his rally last week, interrupted himself to point to Cheadle, who was holding a Veterans for Trump poster.
“Oh, look at my African American over here,” Trump said. “Look at him. Are you the greatest? You know what I’m talking about? OK!
