Kenyan truck driver robbed while helping Nairobi Woman

A lady is currently on the run after drugging and robbing a truck driver, who had offered her a lift, of Sh3 Million .

Leonard Kipsang drives a truck. He and his conductor Harrison Tanui said they were flagged down by a lady when they were riding through a bleakly empty area along the Southern Bypass as they headed from Nairobi to Uganda.

“She looked like aharmless lady who was be stranded late in the night, so I told her to hop on the track and we continued our journey.”

Believing she wouldn’t hurt them, Kipsang said he called out to the lady to join them. However, on the way, she offered them canned beers as a sign of appreciation.

The driver said he collected the beer from the outstretched arms that offered them and felt like he shouldn’t take it at first since he was on the wheel.

Moments later he gulped down part of it and passed it down to the conductor who threw everything down his guts as he talked with the woman.

On nearing Nakuru, the driver said he began to feel light-headed. Looking at the tout, he noticed that Mr Tanui had already slept. Since he was already fainting, he decided to park by the roadside for them to take a rest.

Driver Kipsang said he regained consciousness on Sunday morning but found himself in Nandi East far from his lorry.

He reported to the authorities and the lorry was traced to a tea plantation with goods worth Sh3 Million missing.

Nandi East DCIO Musa Khaemba, who confirmed the incident, said the conductor was found at a different location and after a medical examination, a high concentration of drugs was detected in their blood.

Mr Khaemba stated:

“The conductor was later seen looking for a nearby police station. We took them to the government hospital where heroin was noticed in their blood sample.”

The DCIO boss has now warned drivers to be mindful of who they pick, especially at night.
