The hospital posted some photos via Facebook on Tuesday, thanking and sending kind words to the generous young man. The hospital timeline reads:
Thanks to Muhoho Kenyatta for taking your time to visit the KNH Children’s Cancer Ward and Maternity Wing. Muhoho did a wonderful thing that will help the kids,”.
The action of soft-spoken grandson of Jomo brought up a combination of praise and criticism on social media, with Nairobi senator Mike Sonko among those who praised the effort.
Some of the post which lauded his action:
Mollyne Otienoh, a facebook user wrote
At least now I will get diapers for the little angles I take care of. Thanks Mr. Muhoho baraka tele!” posted
Sasha Mbote wrote:
Muhoho’s kindness would be “rewarded by God almighty”.
Muhoho you are so kind. I remember when you visited my friend after she was involved in a car accident that broke her spine. I want to thank you and to let you know that she was flown to India for further treatment,”
Another user, Lorna Oduol wrote:
When the Lord blesses you financially, do not raise your standard of living but raise your standard of giving….I salute you Kenyatta junior”.
Some others wrote other amazing and welcoming things about the actions of Uhuru’s son.
However the act of charity rubbed some users in the wrong place.
People like Oyieko credited his generosity and thoughtfulness to corruption supremacy in the country
“With good governance and corrupt free regime, Muhoho didn’t have to spend his leisure time at Kenyatta hospital. The hospital should be well equipped to undergo its duties while the boy continues with his golf!”.
Another user, named karanja kamau wrote:
Dennis Gitonga also went a different way saying,
When you help, don’t let others know not unless you doing it for fame.”
Robert Onyambu agreed with Dennis saying,
This is hypocrisy of the highest order. If they are serious helping the poor why not sell that land they own and equip hospitals with dialysis machine!!!”
