Police Officers Linked to Killing of Patient Inside Kenyan Hospital

Chilling revelations link police officers to incident that saw a patient, previously being treated for gunshot wounds, shot again 17 times in a Kenyan Hospital.

The Incident took place on the early hours of Thursday morning inside Mwingi Level Four Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, Fredrick Musyimi was attacked by four gunmen in the hospital vicinity. Three stood outside the ward while the fourth armed man went in and shot the 27 year old dead.

Detectives from Nairobi, Machakos and Embu have been sent to investigate the brutal murder.

A CID officer based in Machakos confirmed that external detectives have been summoned to investigate the killing. He said that the public will be briefed adequately when the matter is conclusively investigated.

Police Officers Linked

Meanwhile the sister of the deceased, Sharlyne Malia, who witnessed the shooting said she has been contacted by a CID Officer who asked to meet and discuss new developments in the incident.

The officer claimed to have two people in custody who were also police officers and needed her to identify them.

Musyimi was said to be picked by four men claiming to be police officers. They bundled him away to Ukasi along the Mwingi-Garissa Highway where they shot him severally.

He survived the first attack and was taken to Mwingi Hospital where he was later killed.

The former Vice President and CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka commented on the incident while speaking at a fund raiser in Kitui County. He speculated that the man was a police informer or had some information the killers wanted to conceal.

“This is clear execution. The country cannot tolerate this kind of impunity. The killing of the patient cannot be allowed in a civilized world.”

Two police officers have been arrested in connection with the murder and will be arraigned in court on Monday morning.
