The 24-year-old began this campaign running having overcome a long-term knee injury to return to action for the Reds midway through pre-season.

He has since the season started, scored three times in three Premier League games to help his side to seven points from a possible nine.

His goals in each of Liverpool’s three games include a stunning solo effort in the 3-3 draw against Watford, a 73rd-minute winner in the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace and another magnificent curler in the 4-0 demolition of Arsenal at Anfield.

It’s the first time the Senegalese man has won the Premier League‘s monthly award, which is quite remarkable as he has in the past, displayed excellent form.
