Snake Seen On A Plane Mid Flight Forces Emergency Landing

Remember the 2006 action thriller movie starring Samuel L Jackson titled ‘Snakes On A Plane’? Like the title explains, passengers were stuck with snakes on a plane and had to withstand various attacks before mounting a fightback.

Well, passengers on a commercial flight in Mexico witnessed that Hollywood script’s real life re-enaction although in this case, it was just one reptile.

AeroMexico Flight 231 passengers flying from Torreon to Mexico City found themselves sharing the cabin with a snake on Sunday.

Passengers were shocked when they saw the serpent slither above from one of the aircraft’s overhead storage bins to another.

The 5 feet long snake, thought to be the venomous green viper, then fell to the seating area as seen in the short clip circulating online.

Flight attendants had to notify the pilot, who then forced an emergency landing so animal control could secure the reptile as well as relieve passengers from the nightmare.

AeroMexico released a statement to The Associated Press acknowledging a snake was found on the plane which was then given priority landing in Mexico City.

The statement further said:

”The procedures carried out for this flight are currently being evaluated to determine how the animal entered the cabin and measures have been taken to avoid such incidents in the future.”

No passengers reported any injuries due to the incident although a few people might have messed up their pants during the melee.

What would you do if you found a snake dangling just above your head in the stowaway cabin mid flight with practically nowhere to run to?
